Akchour Waterfalls & Bridge of God Hike from Tetouan

Head out from Tetouan towards Akchour, one of northern Morocco's best-kept natural treasures. Tucked into the Rif Mountains a short drive from Chefchaouen, Akchour is a green paradise where crystal-clear rivers, deep valleys, spectacular waterfalls, and dramatic rock formations await you around every bend of the trail.

The journey from Tetouan is already an experience: travelling in a comfortable vehicle, you wind through the wild Rif landscapes — forested ridges, Berber villages clinging to hillsides, and roads cutting through ancient cedar groves. On arrival at Akchour, your local guide welcomes you and leads you straight into the heart of nature.

The trek begins along shaded trails that follow the Farda River, whose turquoise waters are an invitation to linger. You'll reach the Akchour Waterfalls, a dramatic curtain of water crashing down from the Rif cliffs — the perfect spot to catch your breath, cool off, and fill your camera. The hike then continues to the Bridge of God, a natural arch carved by erosion through the limestone rock, offering a breathtaking view over the canyon and the river far below.
